Project Kids Quest Partnership

Rich says, "Nitroholic Racing was founded in 2012 when my father and I, along with the help of several friends, built our first drag racer in the form of a nostalgia funny car. "Why not start with something eaiser to drive?" is probably the most common question I would be asked, and to tell you the truth, to this day I still don't have a good answer for that, it just seemed like a fun class... Gaining the experience and skills needed to compete in this circuit has been a long and incredibly fun journey. Recently, the Nitroholic team has experienced great success and personal victories and look forward to a great presence in the nostalgia circuit. It takes a small army of dedicated crewmen to get a car like this down the drag strip and the Nitroholic team is made up of some of the best around, all this could not be possible without them!"
Pulling in a career best 307.23 mph, funny car driver John Hale knows how to go fast. Two-time Nostalgia Funny Car race winner and active competitor on the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series, John drives the ALO Drink/Jim Dunn Racing Dodge Charger.
John has been racing cars since 1987, at the age of 22, when he began with an e.t. bracket roadster. John holds many track et and speed records as well as the quickest et. in a legal Nostalgia Funny Car 5.58 et. and is the second of only two members in the Legends of Nitro 260 club.
John became a professional in 2013 earning his NHRA Top Fuel Funny car license and qualified at his first national event. 
When it comes to hard core racers, they don’t get any tougher than Brad Thompson; he lives and breaths nitro. When Big Brad made the switch to Funny Car, he came out swinging and has never backed off.

The "Northwest Hitter" Nitro funny cars and Bucky Austin Racing, it was truly a remarkable presentation. Kris and the crew were great! It was great for the students to see a racer explain the importance of and links between racing and the components of STEM education. We were excited to learn about where Kris got his start in the drag racing profession and how he continues to inspire others. He is a truly dedicated racer with a supportive and successful crew.
We brought over 150 students and 50 adult chaperones to a wet but very successful outing to meet the drivers and crews of some very special Funny Car Teams.
The students got to see and meet Roger Garten and crew of War Horse, for direct hands on experience with race cars, engineering, and mechanics.
When we apprached Roger regarding our STEM program he said "It would be an honor" to talk with my students, we we're so happy and surprised. What a wonderful and sincere gentleman who was one of the pioneers in drag racing. He loved talking with the kids, signed autographs, and joked about if he would have it to do again, he would start wearing hearing protection a little earlier in his career. We are saddened by the passing of Roger Garten during a summer 2015 race at Famoso Raceways in Bakersfield, CA. Thank you for your graciousness and you will be missed. We will also remember to say a special hello in your honor when we go to the races.
Team Craig Racing was established in 1989 by Mike and Kathie Craig. Mike restored and campaigned a 1964 Jim Davis Front Engine Dragster and ran in Jr. Fuel at the Nostalgia Races in California, Idaho, and Oregon.
Team Craig Racing is currently running a Top Fuel car in AA/FD Heritage Series.
